WHAT IS EUROPEAN LANGUAGE PORTFOLIO?

The European Language Portfolio is introduced to motivate and support foreign language learning. It has been designed to enable learners to think about their language learning and ways to improve it whether you attend a course or learn languages on your own. It can also be used as a portfolio to show the others your knowledge of foreign languages and cultures. It is based on the levels described in the Common European Framework of Reference developed by the Council of Europe.

You are owner of the portfolio. It is your help which will present a follow-up of your foreign languages learning in an adult age and be suitable for documentation of both institutional or independent learning. If you possess a European language portfolio issued by some other competent authority, you might want to keep the one you already have. Also, if you are attending a language course in an institution belonging to EAQUALS, you may make up you mind to use this portfolio in future.

The European language portfolio consists of three parts: language passport, language biography and Dossier. The guidelines for usage of each part are attached.

1. LANGUAGE PASSPORT
This is a general review of your experience and abilities in different foreign languages updated when necessary. Here you record official certificates and self-assessment.

2. LANGUAGE BIOGRAPHY
This a record of your personal language learning history helping you to assess your aims in language learning and think about your significant linguistic and intercultural experiences.

3. DOSSIER
Dossier is the collection of your works and certificates you yourself choose as a proof of your language abilities, experiences and achievements.

BRITISH COUNCIL & CAMBRIDGE ESOL

British Council in Belgrade, Terazije 8/1, has been our great support in work for years. A rich library, video library, reading room, seminars and expert counsels, provide options to us as an institution but also to our students to learn, widen their knowledge and find out everything they want about Great Britain.
Cambridge ESOL exams and certificates are our guidelines in work and one of the aims for our learners. We organize preparation courses for these exams. The most frequent exam our students successfully pass is FCE. We have excellent cooperation with British Council in regard of young pupils aged 7-12. Exams in three YLE levels are: Starters, Movers and Flyers. In June every year we apply for these exams. The results achieved are excellent, the children are very happy with the experience and recognition of their knowledge.
